Downtown!!

My friend, Jeanne, came up with a great idea for today...to take the boys on the free trolley downtown. Eli and Trevor had a great time. After the trolley, we went to Market Square for water fountains and lunch.

Isn't he cute in his Thomas underwear?!!

Kitchen Cabinets

Well, I am pretty much done with the kitchen cabinets. There is still a little bit of touching up that needs to be done, and I need to finish the parts beside the appliances. I just haven't had a chance to do it on a weekend where John can help me move them. Over all, I am very pleased. I was able to get new hardware, but the hinges I bought are too small (since our house is so old) that I had to take those back and use the original ones. So, I have brushed silver knobs and handles and bronze hinges. I'm thinking of either painting the hinges white or seeing if there's some way to spray paint them the brushed silver. I don't know if either one of those ideas will work. I just don't want to have to drill new holes in all my cabinet doors.

All that's left for the kitchen now is painting the walls, finishing the baseboards, crown molding, new appliances and maybe new counter tops. I think I would like tile counter tops, but I'm not sure I want to mess with grout. We'll see. The kitchen still has a long way to go, but it is looking better every day!!

"Quiet Times"

Eli doesn't usually nap anymore but I still enjoy an hour our so of Eli free time. So, we have "quiet times" or "rest times." The other day, I laid down myself and when I went to check on him this is what I found. We have since made it a point to tell him that he is not allowed to go through every drawer in his room when he rests. He did actually fall asleep this time. I guess tearing your room apart makes you tired!!!

Happy Birthday, Poppy!!

Thursday, the 16th, was my Dad's birthday and we all met at Sullivan's in Maryville to celebrate. We love going to that restaurant because Alana always rents out the room upstairs and the kids can run free! It's so nice!! I got some fun pictures but forgot to get one of Eli and the birthday boy (sorry Dad). I was going to get a picture of Eli and Dad at our breakfast the other day and completely forgot, too. One of these days I'll get it. Thanks, Alana, for a yummy dinner!!

No evening with our family would be complete without a bowl of ice cream and an Uncle Chris tackle!!!

Swimming With Jolie

One of the last things Eli did with Jolie was go swimming. The kiddies had a good time and even shared a cup of ice!!

Random Pics.

Josh and Kresta stopped by on their way home from their anniversary/birthday trip to Gatlinburg. We went to lunch with them and had to snap a photo! Thanks for taking time to visit us on your way home to your little man!!

On Sunday, I got Eli dressed for church and he went and grabbed this hat and his blue flip flops. I told him he looked like he was going fishing!!

Playing with stickers!

Playing with Jolie!

We went over to Dad and Alana's last week to let Eli and Jolie play!! Of course, Trish and I got to visit, too! The kids had a great time!!

Here they are running back and forth in the living room with balloons. They always end up doing this when we go over there. Well, without the balloons.

Both of the kiddos are potty training. Hence the underwear and no pants!!

Here's Eli giving Jolie a kiss before they cuddle together!
And, of course, Baby Taylor!

Lunch time!
Cheesy face!

Family Olympics 2007

Well, my parents had the brilliant idea of starting a new tradition...Family Olympics. We had a watermelon race (where I gracefully wiped out going down hill!!), an obstacle course, money tree picking, a scavenger hunt and, of course, Aussie Tossie. No family games is complete without Aussie Tossie. Needless to say, I am quite sore. For better pictures, check out Carrie and Tricia's blogs.

Here is Eli at his nap before the games began. This is what happens when you play before you sleep and are so tired you can't quite make it to your bed!!

Picking flowers before the games begin.

Watermelon races. Running downhill with a watermelon is a lot harder than it looks.

Green Tea anyone?

Football pass.

Here is Sarah, Tricia's cousin's fiance, playing Aussie Tossie. This picture gives you a perfect image of what the game is all about. It is picking up a raw potato between your legs, carrying it down to a small bucket and dropping it in the bucket. It is very humorous!!

We followed the games with some yummy food and cake!!
Thanks, Grame and Poppy, for a fun time and for all of the hard work and creativity you put in to the Games!! We are anxiously awaiting next year's games!!!
