Since We've Been Home...

Well, since we've been home life has definitely changed. John wonderfully has 10 day paternity leave from work, so he has been great in keeping up with Eli. Eli is just enthralled with his little sister and loves to touch her all of the time!! We went to the pediatrician on Friday and Jenny weighed in at 6lbs. 10 oz. with everything else looking great!!

It was a little cold when we woke up on Saturday!! So, we bundled the little girl up quite nicely!
Poppy came to the hospital twice and I failed to take a picture of him with Jenny. So, when he stopped by on Saturday my camera was ready!!
My sister & her family also stopped by on Saturday. The girls were so excited to get their hands on the baby!!

More visitors...Mimi & Pappy!!
This morning, we gave Jenny her first bath.
She didn't like it very much.
Eli loves his baby sister!!

Jenny is doing great!! She is eating well and sleeping pretty well. Last night was really good, but the night before was okay. We'll see how tonight goes!! We are all enjoying getting to know our newest addition and are grateful to God for a healthy baby girl!!

Going Home & More

We thought it would serve Eli if he could be part of taking the baby home. So, after a fun-filled day with Mimi & Pappy, Eli came to the hospital and helped us get ready to go.

There she is!!
Do you see that little blue blankie? That is actually Eli's and he was sharing it with Jenny!!

He also shared his trains!

Eli really enjoyed playing with the bed!!

Welcome home, little girl!!

Eli had some presents waiting for him when we got home! Here is his loot!

Here's Mason saying her first hello! She is doing really well with the baby! So far, she hasn't given as many kisses as she did when we brought Eli home!! I definitely think she has put on her role as protector! It's really cute!

A Few More

Well, here are a few more pictures of "Baby Pickles." For those of you who might be wondering about the name "Baby Pickles" that is what Eli calls her. We are not sure where it came from, but a couple of months ago someone asked him what the baby's name was going to be and he said Pickles. Well, it has stuck and we actually think it is completely adorable!! She did great last night! From the first time I nursed her she latched on with not problems!! The only problem over night was getting her to wake up enough to feed. She would wake up on her own but then fall back to sleep as soon as I got her in position to nurse! At Ft. Sanders Regional, they won't allow the baby to stay in the room if no one is awake, so I would feed her and then they would take her back to the nursery. It is kind of nice being able to get some sleep. We'll see what happens when we get home!!

Here is John passed out on the fold out chair. He said it was surprisingly comfortable!!
Also, feel free to check out my sister's blog (Chris & Carrie's Blog) for more pictures! She came and photographed Eli and Pickles's first meeting!! Thanks to everyone who has commented and been praying for us! Delivery was cake this time compared to Eli and I feel God's presence blessing our little foursome!! Thanks to Josh & Tonya and Lowell & Kim who are helping out with Eli last night and today last minute! We really appreciate your flexibility and kindness! We know Eli is enjoying his time with you!!

Jeanetta Grace Girbert

Jeanetta Grace Girbert - born May 14th at 2:05 pm. She weighs 7 lbs and 4.3 oz. Delivery was a breeze this time compared to Eli - We went into the hospital at 7:45 am and Jenny arrived at 2:05 pm... Glory to God.

Here She Comes!!

It's now about 1 45 pm and Jeanetta is about to arrive!!

Baby Day!!!!

Leah and I are at the hospital waiting for "baby pickles" to arrive!!! Right now it's around 12:30 pm and Leah is doing well... the doctor thinks that Jenny could be here around 4 pm.

We'll keep everyone posted on the progress. It looks like we will have Internet access so we will be able to post pictures, etc so keep checking for updates.

Family Fun Day!!

Well, since we are going in to have our little girl tomorrow, we decided it would be fun to have a "family fun day" to celebrate our last day as a threesome!! John took the day off work and we headed up to Pigeon Forge and went to the Nascar Speed Park. Eli was so excited about riding cars and other rides.

Here is how he was from the second we pulled into the parking lot. So excited!!
Still excited!!
It's very hard to tell her, but by this time he was totally freaked out. I think the noise of the cars and the fact that he wasn't quite tall enough to really drive the car scared him. If you click on the picture you can see how small he looks. We tried to get him to ride the other go-carts with John but he would not go on them at all!!
He spent most of his time on these trucks...
trains...
and swings.
Our last photo as a threesome!!
Family fun day wouldn't be complete without a trip to McDonald's!!
After lunch, John discovered a whole new section of the speed park that we didn't know was running!
Check out this carousel!!
Again, not a big fan of the race cars!!

Well, we had such a fun day. Eli really surprised me with how much he didn't like the cars, but he is silly!! Thanks to everyone who has called today to encourage us and to let us know of their prayers!! We are so excited to welcome our little girl into our lives!! I am most anxious to get rid of this belly!! Thanks to Jeanne who is being so kind as to keep up with Eli for the next two days! What a blessing!! We'll keep everyone posted on how things are going tomorrow!! Not sure if the hospital has internet or not.

Family Pictures

My friend, Lillian, came to our house and took some photos for us a couple of weeks ago. She gave me the cd today at church and I was so anxious to take a look at them. They turned out great! God has truly blessed Lillian with an amazing gift that she is using to bring Him glory and to serve her family. Thanks, Lillian!! These are great!!
