It's Been Awhile...

Sorry for the long delay in posting. It has definitely been different around here. Jenny decided that she didn't like being put down during the day and wanted to be held constantly. So, things were a little challenging for awhile. We have been working on helping her be content in a swing or bouncy seat and sleeping in her bassinet during the day for naps. She does great overnight, so we aren't sure what the deal is. But, she is slowly starting to get it and get more adjusted to the outside world!! Here are some random pictures from the last couple of weeks.

Eli found the baby toys I put in the living room and got all of them out for the baby. Doesn't she look ready to play?
He loves holding her!
He is also a very big helper!
And, he's very generous in sharing his toys!
We went to the pool the other day with some friends and I wasn't sure how that was going to work. If I didn't know everyone there, I wouldn't have gone by myself. Anyway, Jenny slept for two hours in her stroller, so I got to hang out with Eli in the pool! It was so great!!
For the past two Friday's we have gone to this gym where they have open play for the kids. Eli loves it!!

Aawww!! Eli looks so super huge next Jenny!! But, by himself he still looks little!!

He is such a super great big brother!! He's taking his role so seriously!

Maybe you should put Jenny in her stroller for her afternoon nap...she slept there at the pool, and when we came over the other day she was sleeping well in it!! Hmmmm?!?

Leah,

I can sympathize with your frustration over Jenny not wanting to be put down and rest in her bed during the day. We have the same problem with Aaron. He sleeps great at night (only wakes once now), but we're lucky to get a 30 minute nap out of him during the day. AND he cries if I put him down. It's really demanding. If you every need someone to take a turn bouncing her for a while, I'd be happy to come over or to have you guys over here. Sometimes just having both arms free to hug the big brother (or brotherS, in my case) and an adult conversation can really make a huge difference. Hang in there. Someday this will be a distant memory and we'll LONG for the days when they wanted to be held all the time! (That's what they keep telling me, anyway!!) She's beautiful. I can't wait to see her in person.
